CEO changes for Marine Tourism Holdings Fiji and Australia

Marine Tourism Holdings, the parent company of Cruise Whitsundays, Awesome Adventures Oz, Awesome Adventures Fiji and South Sea Cruises has announced changes to its senior management for both its Australian and Fijian operations.

Peter Duncan who is currently the CEO of their Fiji operation will be moving to the Whitsundays in Australia with his wife Tracey and two children prior to Christmas 2007 and will take over the role of CEO of Cruise Whitsundays at the end of January 2008. It will be a bit of coming back home for Tracey who grew up in Airlie Beach and whose parents still reside there.

Prior to his appointment in Fiji Peter was the GM of Bali Hai Cruises in Bali for 13 years operating reef, island and sailing trips. He has been CEO of our much larger Fiji operation South Sea Cruises/Awesome Adventures for four years so he will bring a wealth of experience with him.

Current Cruise Whitsundays CEO Rod Gluth will be leaving at the end of January 2008 to continue his career in the tourism industry. Rod has put in a fantastic effort and achieved a great deal for Cruise Whitsundays, doing the hard yards in these first few years establishing the operation from scratch. He will be much missed by the company, staff and the local industry.

Rod will re-join his partner Sacha who returned to Sydney earlier in the year to pursue her career.

NEW CEO APPOINTMENT - SOUTH SEA CRUISES/AWESOME ADVENTURES FIJI

The new CEO of the operation in Fiji will be Kit Nixon a man with many years' experience in the travel industry and who will be taking over from Peter Duncan. Kit is already resident in Fiji getting ready for the handover.

Kit was with Marine Tourism Holdings previously as CEO of the New Zealand operation, Fullers Bay of Islands. Kit has worked in a number of senior positions with Contiki in London and New Zealand and in regional tourism in Napier.

Kit has been hard at work the last few months on sales missions for South Sea Cruises/Awesome Adventures Fiji to the USA, UK and Scandinavia. Kit likewise brings a wealth of experience to the position - all he has to do now is learn to like kava!
