NEW CEO for DIGICEL FIJI

SENIOR Digicel executive Matt Davey has been appointed new CEO for the Fiji operation. Mr Davey joined the company in August 2009, having previously had 12 years of telecommunications industry experience within the SingTel Group. His appointement as CEO will commence 1st January 2010.

Rosie Holidays Fiji Staff Appointments

ROSIE Holidays is one of the largest inbound tour operators in Fiji Islands, based in Nadi. The company has recently appointed Ronald Singh as Director of Sales Tour Desks and Thrifty Car Rentals. Mr Singh has a well-established background in tourism positions, having previously worked in sales management for various Fiji operators, including Feejee Experience and Tourist Transport Fiji.

Staff Changes at Fiji Visitors Bureau

The Fiji Visitors Bureau New Zealand and Head Office, farewelled two of its marketing officers last month - Mr. Anare Senibulu and Mr. Darren Yuen. Following the resignations, Miss Ragigia Dawai has been appointed Regional Marketing Officer for New Zealand and will be based in the Fiji Visitors Bureau office in Auckland, New Zealand. New Chief Executive for Tanoa Hotels Fiji

Gordon Wilson has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive of the Tanoa Hotels Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Reddy Group. Mr. Wilson has a wide range of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked extensively in Europe, Africa and most recently in New Zealand where he held a position with Millennium Hotels, the largest hotel company in that country.

Denarau Golf Club appoints new GM

THE prestigious Denarau Golf and Racquet Club in Fiji has a new General Manager, Greg Cornwall. Mr Cornwall has previously held senior management positions in Fiji, where he worked with Golf Terraces Apartments on Denarau as well as Treasure Island Resort, and New Zealand.

The Denarau Golf & Racquet Club comprises a championship par 72 golf course, six lawn tennis courts and and four all-weather tennis courts, a well stocked Pro Shop, relaxing open-air bar plus a restaurant serving lunch and dinner. Staff includes a team of experienced golf and tennis professionals.

Staff changes for Marine Tourism Holdings

Marine Tourism Holdings, the parent company of South Sea Cruises, Awesome Adventures and Cruise Whitsundays has announced a change of Reservation Managers for both its Fiji and Australian operations.

Holly Beere who is currently Reservations Manager for Awesome Adventures Fiji and South Sea Cruises will be moving to the Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia to take on the role of Retail Sales Manager for Cruise Whitsundays and Awesome Adventures OZ commencing late January.

Sales Manager, Ross Gallagher, said that Holly's contribution to the Fiji companies over the past three years has been exceptional and she will be sadly missed by her colleagues in Fiji as well as the local travel industry but that their loss will be the Whitsundays gain where Holly will continue her high level of friendly professionalism in her new role.

Kristeen Yelavich has been appointed as the new Reservations Manager for South Sea Cruises and Awesome Adventures Fiji. Kristeen was previously Manager of the 'Bay of Islands Travel Centre' in Auckland and is currently in Fiji learning the ropes and will officially take over on the 14th of January.

CEO changes for Marine Tourism Holdings Fiji and Australia

Marine Tourism Holdings, the parent company of Cruise Whitsundays, Awesome Adventures Oz, Awesome Adventures Fiji and South Sea Cruises has announced changes to its senior management for both its Australian and Fijian operations.

Peter Duncan who is currently the CEO of their Fiji operation will be moving to the Whitsundays in Australia with his wife Tracey and two children prior to Christmas 2007 and will take over the role of CEO of Cruise Whitsundays at the end of January 2008. It will be a bit of coming back home for Tracey who grew up in Airlie Beach and whose parents still reside there.

Prior to his appointment in Fiji Peter was the GM of Bali Hai Cruises in Bali for 13 years operating reef, island and sailing trips. He has been CEO of our much larger Fiji operation South Sea Cruises/Awesome Adventures for four years so he will bring a wealth of experience with him.

Current Cruise Whitsundays CEO Rod Gluth will be leaving at the end of January 2008 to continue his career in the tourism industry. Rod has put in a fantastic effort and achieved a great deal for Cruise Whitsundays, doing the hard yards in these first few years establishing the operation from scratch. He will be much missed by the company, staff and the local industry.

Rod will re-join his partner Sacha who returned to Sydney earlier in the year to pursue her career.

NEW CEO APPOINTMENT - SOUTH SEA CRUISES/AWESOME ADVENTURES FIJI

The new CEO of the operation in Fiji will be Kit Nixon a man with many years' experience in the travel industry and who will be taking over from Peter Duncan. Kit is already resident in Fiji getting ready for the handover.

Kit was with Marine Tourism Holdings previously as CEO of the New Zealand operation, Fullers Bay of Islands. Kit has worked in a number of senior positions with Contiki in London and New Zealand and in regional tourism in Napier.

Kit has been hard at work the last few months on sales missions for South Sea Cruises/Awesome Adventures Fiji to the USA, UK and Scandinavia. Kit likewise brings a wealth of experience to the position - all he has to do now is learn to like kava!

Tracey Ellis joins Allways Dive Travel Wholesalers

Allways Dive travel wholesalers in Australia are excited to welcome Tracey Ellis to their team. Tracey worked previously for another dive wholesaler. Tracey has been working with Flight Centre in the groups department for the last 18 months but the lure of diving brought her back to the dive industry and to the shores of Allways Dive Expeditions.
