Position: Resort Manager - Couple prefer
Salary: FJD 50-60K + benefits
Located on idyllic Qamea Island is Maqai Eco Surf Resort. A 9 bure resort set on 5 acres specializing in glamping, surfing and adventure tourism.
Are you a dynamic manager or management couple and highly proficient at leading a team? Are you hands on - can you roll your sleeves up and get stuck in on a gorgeous and remote Fijian island, perhaps hauling boats in in the middle of the night? Do you like wearing flips flops and bula shirts and love people, the ocean, yoga, hiking surfing…… then we want to hear from you! If you have experience in accounting management, general bookings and experience running resorts ( preferably in the pacific) as well as other relevant expertise (e.g. yoga instructor, surf instructor, chef, etc.), please read on.
Do you have the ability to lead? Train, supervise, motivate, discipline and monitor the performance of all employees in accordance with the Local Employment Law of Fiji and the company policy.

We’re looking to fill the position for a resort management couple or Resort manager, to undertake and oversee General Management /Activities/Administrative Support. Our resort is Itaukei lease and training of local management staff is part of the lease agreement, which continues to be our aim. You will need to be focused on staff training to a high level.
General Management requirements: The priority is the day-to-day management of resort, to get it humming with a nice mix of village feel under-pinned by professionalism – the latter is obligatory; in order to grow this amazing location on the Fijian tourism scene, we have the village feel in bucket loads, it just needs the consistent professionalism that any guest would expect.
An all-round background is preferred, a proactive approach to ensure we have back-ups for everything; there are no roads, no shops, etc., which is a major allure of the resort.
Management experience in the hospitality industry, at a resort level, preferably with an island resort/hotel. Additional considerations include, yoga instructor or surf instructor and familiarity with food and beverage.
If you require: 5 star living quarters, suit and tie attire, daily extended coffee breaks and 2 hour lunches, consistent office setting, malls, and expertly trained staff - you may as well skip this job.
However … If you are comfortable with "expecting the unexpected" and being unflappable Have experience in managing resorts preferably in Fiji on an island, or the pacific we look forward to hearing from you!
