Position: Language Research Participants
Lionbridge is now recruiting people for a Samoan Language Research project. The goal of the language research project is to aid in the development of speech recognition technology for the Samoan language. The tasks are simple and do not require any specific or previous experience. In the first task, you will see sentences in Samoan and will need to record your voice while you read them aloud. In the second task, you will see images and will get task instructions e.g. Describe the image, Catchphrase, Talk to the image. You'll then need to record your voice while following the instructions.
It is required that you are a native speaker. However, participants can be located anywhere in the world as the tasks can be done easily from home. You are required to have either an Android phone, or Android tablet. Alternatively, you may also use any computer with Chrome browser, an internet connection, and a quiet space to make your recordings. Unfortunately, this means that you are unable to complete these tasks using an iOS device.
Here are all the project details: Language Research Project (participant’s age 18+): The duration of the first task is approximately 1 hour. The duration of the second task is approximately 2-2.5 hours. Rate: 45 USD for completing the first task and 70 USD for completing the second task. The payment will be done by bank transfer. PayPal is also an option for those residing outside Samoa.
