Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities:

" Building and Maintaining relationships in the business community

Academic Qualifications &amp; Experience:

" Degree/MBA or equivalent experience 
" A demonstrated ability to lead and get results through people. Commercial acumen, maturity and professionalism with the ability to bring immediate experience, credibility and value to bear with all stakeholders.
" Record of success in meeting aggressive sales and revenue targets.

         <title>Right to Information Intern</title> 
       	 <description><![CDATA[Other - Non-Profit - The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) is seeking a Pacific Islander professional or postgraduate student working on right to information, good governance, anti-corruption, freedom of expression or media freedom issues to spend between two and three months completing a professional internship in the CHRI Right to Information Programme in the first few months of 2008. 

As part of CHRI's work in the Pacific, the programme will take on a professional or postgraduate intern from a Commonwealth Pacific island country, who will spend between two and three months in CHRI's New Delhi office, learning about the Right to Information Programme, international and Commonwealth advocacy and all aspects of the right to information, accountability, transparency and good governance. The intern will have a chance to explore all of CHRI's work, which includes research, legal analysis and technical advice, advocacy, capacity building, compliance monitoring, network building and workshop facilitation. The intern will also have a chance to build their own networks and share their expertise and experience with CHRI staff and partners.

The exchange is financially supported by NZAID. The intern will be provided with a return airfare, accommodation, visa costs and a stipend.  The exact time of the internship will be determined in consultation with the successful applicant but the period of the internship will be between 8 and 12 weeks which will occur between December 2007 and April 2008.   

Applicants must be a professional or postgraduate student working on the right to information, good governance, transparency or accountability initiatives or related human rights.  Advocates, government employees, post-graduate students, lawyers, journalists and representatives of civil society are all encouraged to apply.  Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English and be prepared to live in New Delhi, India for the period of the internship. 

The opportunity is suitable for an energetic, enthusiastic and creative person interested in expanding their expertise, building networks and sharing their experiences.  Candidates must be adaptable and able to work effectively in a challenging and fast paced environment.
